General Surgeon, KaraBeth Moore, MD, FACS, is a Kentucky native, and is Kentucky educated.
She completed her undergraduate studies at Murray State University, where she was active in
student government and other organizations and graduated magna cum laude. She attended
medical school at the University of Louisville School of Medicine where she was a class officer,
and she graduated with distinction in 2000. Following medical school, she trained in General
Surgery at the University of Kentucky, including a year of research in Pediatric Cardiothoracic
Surgery.
Dr. Moore has been a member of The Lexington Surgeons practice at Baptist Hospital
since 2007 after the completion of her Residency. She is a board certified general surgeon and
was awarded Fellow status in The American College of Surgeons in 2010. Her areas of interest
include the treatment of breast cancer and benign breast disease, laparoscopic surgery, and hernia
repair.
Dr. Moore is married to an engineer and has two wonderful children. She has chosen to stay in
Kentucky where their family roots run deep.
